Telluride Skiing & Mountain Village
|
Simply put, Skiing Telluride is the purest form of a Colorado experience. The stunning views from atop the Prospect Bowl leave skiers with an itching feeling to never leave.
Telluride was built upon the mining industry, treating its patrons and residents well during the booming years. Once the mines officially closed in 1978, the town had shrunk quickly, leaving Telluride with less than 600 residents. The snow that was considered to be treacherous and hassling to miners was now seen as the new gold. Even though the first lifts of the Telluride Ski Corporation were installed in 1974, the town did not begin to see a growth in tourism until 1978, when the ski area was purchased by Ron Allred and Jim Wells. Telluride had been rediscovered for its amazing views, unique Victorian village and expert skiing.
Currently the mountain boasts over 1,700 acres of skiing options with more than 85 maintained trails to explore. And as skiers and snowboarders push the envelope further every season, so has Telluride. The resort offers three unique Terrain Parks for all abilities, filled with super-pipes, rails and towering fly-boxes. We understand the importance of pushing your limits.
But don’t take our word for it. Come see for yourself why Telluride is considered Colorado’s best kept secret. |
